I know, I know, it’s been awhile. The past three months have been difficult with my health as I kept getting sick and constant headaches. I get a lot of headaches but these were unbearable. I’ve also been busy catching up with the endless freedom of playing games and enjoying the college after life. I finished my last semester of college with all A’s and I’m ready to walk in May with two of my best friends! I hope you all had a great holiday and end of the year celebration, cause unfortunately for me, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve was horrid & sickly. I invite the year 2016 on the blog officially and for fun I’ll share some goals I’d like to see by the end of 2016.
This post may seem late for New Year Resolutions but it's better late than never. Past years I've made resolutions that I would later forget and never achieve because they were unspecific. The "new me", and I'm sure everyone can agree, has gotten old and cheesy. So I really put in a lot of thought about the things in life that are currently super important to me and make achievable goals.
1. Make an effort to go to the gym at least 4 times a week. I need to do a better job of keeping track of workouts and my progress so I can share my successes later on. What's progress when I don't make the effort to actually go to the gym? That's why now I'm making it a weekly goal to go at least 4 times a week. I know for a fact that Tuesday & Thursday I have to go, no excuses. I'm going to use my trusty AppleWatch & the built in Activity app to track my gym days. Some days I forget to bring my watch and forget to hit the start button, so that's why I always mark it in my calendar too. So yes it looks like I am slacking... haha. Oh, and I can't forget to drink protein after workouts!
2. Drink 5-9 cups of water a day. I know this sounds silly but I spend so much time buying coffee and tea that I forget to make time to just have a glass of water. When I kept getting sick I realized I lacked the most important part of helping my immune system fight bacteria. I would sometimes go DAYS without drinking water and I'm pretty sure that has something to do with the constant headaches I get. I need to start now and stop spending so much on coffee and tea, as much as I love both. My friend recommended me this cute app called Plant Nanny. It is an app that was designed to help you keep track of water consumption while making it fun. I can watch my plant grow as I drink more water, or die as I lack the cups of water my plant and I need. It's free and adorable, try it out!
3. Do yoga every Tuesday and Thursday morning. Yoga helps increase flexibility, muscle strength, and can boost endurance that is beneficial for the body, and I need that! Now that I'm done with school I have so much time on my hands that I want to start being productive on days I have completely available. I downloaded this app called Pocket Yoga and tried it out a few times. I must say for $2.99, it is worth it. The app gives me so many options as to what kind of yoga session I want and lists all of the possible yoga poses out there.Once I tried out this app, I knew I wanted to make it a goal to actually utilize it because in the end it will only benefit my mind and body.
4. Don't touch the savings account. Period. I have such a bad habit of putting money away and then later on taking it out for some lame impulsive purchase. I always realize too late that I could've had so much more than what I have now (which is not a lot at all) that I cringe at the possibility of having more of my hard earned money still in reach.
These four are goals that I can see myself achieving. I will update my progresses as I go along and continue the blog. Also, I've recently created a website for the hubby so he can showcase his musical talent and progress. Please check it out and feel free to reach out to us about it! And with all that being said, I hope January has been good to you.
